Motor Vehicle Action Group
Our Motor Vehicle Action Group focuses on helping educate and reduce on and off road injuries. Between 2010 and 2015, motor vehicle collisions in Wellington County have accounted for over 1,600 hospital stays and a potential of 437 years lost. Young Canadians represent 13% of the licensed driving population, but account for almost 209 percent of motor vehicle deaths and injuries. In the last few years the action group has focused on ATV safety, aggressive driving and sharing the road with farm equipment. Wellington County’s farmland spans 466,400 square kilometres, making addressing sharing the road crucial. Our three members are Chair, Cathy Sweeney, Wellington County Emergency Management, Blaine Burman, Wellington County Social Services, Pasquale Costanzo, Wellington County Roads.
